STAFF & FACULTY PROGRAM
All Marymount staff and faculty can participate in a simple, informal self-assessment process about their office practices and apply for SustainableMarymount certification on an annual basis. The assessment is based on office best practices that help decrease energy consumption and waste with points assigned to various workplace attributes or behaviors.
The assessment can be completed at two different scales: individual or office.
For those who want to perform an individual assessment:
- Send a note to the Office of Sustainability (ktalbot@marymountpv.edu) acknowledging your participation in the program and allowing for an annual office visit, joint review of the assessment results, and discussion of areas for improvement with an Office of Sustainability staff person.
- Download the Sustainable Marymount Individual Assessment form.
- Complete the self-assessment and determine your initial score and certification level
- Submit the completed form to the Office of Sustainability (ktalbot@marymountpv.edu)
- Prepare for an office audit or follow-up from the Office of Sustainability
For those who share a workspace and want to perform an office-wide assessment:
- Define your “office.” It should be a work area occupied by two or more people that share the same resources. An office is not restricted by titles of departments or divisions. Offices space should include kitchens, conference rooms, computer labs, classrooms and other shared work space.
- Designate an office liaison to be the correspondent between your office and the Office of Sustainability.
- The office liaison should send a note to the Office of Sustainability (ktalbot@marymountpv.edu) acknowledging your office’s participation in the program and allowing for an annual office visit, joint review of the assessment results, and discussion of areas for improvement with an Office of Sustainability staff person.
- Download the Sustainable Marymount Office Assessment form.
- Complete the assessment and determine your initial score and certification level
- Submit the completed form to the Office of Sustainability (ktalbot@marymountpv.edu)
- Prepare for an office audit or follow-up from the Office of Sustainability
Based on the feasible actions for each office, certification is awarded according to the following scale:
- Certified: 25-50%
- Silver: 50-75%
- Gold: 75-100%
Offices will be audited annually at the end of the spring term at which time participants can renew their certification and track new improvements.
