Frequently Asked Questions
 
Q: “Where do I pay my 50 dollar application fee?”
A: “ Students can pay in the Business service office or online by clicking the “ make a payment button” the link is:  http://www.marymountpv.edu/student-accounts 
 
Pay now or send the link to your parent/guardian so that they can make the payment. This is a required fee to reserve your space at PV North or PV West for FALL.
 
Q:    “How was my Rank Number determined?
A:     “Each student is given a number based on their number of credits earned.  When more than one student has the same number of credits earned, all of those students are given a random number based on the total number of students in the group.”
 
Q:    “I am a rising sophomore and want to live with a rising junior, what do I do?”
A:     “You can attend Room Selection night with your friend that is the rising junior on their night!”
 
Q:    “How does the raking system work, I am confused?”
A:     “On the night of Room Selection we will call students in to select their space in number order.  You will arrive together with everyone in your house that wants to live together.  You will line up based on the best of the numbers for your group.  In other words, a person with a low number (which is better) can “pull in” their friends to live with them, regardless of their numbers!  For example:
 
Victoria Smith has number 257 ~ Room Selection Night Tuesday, March 13th at 8:00pm
Jennifer Luchianni has number 119 ~ Room Selection Night Tuesday, March 13th at 8:00pm
Akari Chang has number 42 ~ Room Selection Night Monday, March 12th at 8:00pm
Rebecca Santiago has number 399 ~ Room Selection Night Tuesday, March 13th at 8:00pm
 
These four students want to live together at PV West.  Since Akari has the best number, all four students will come to Room Selection night on Monday, March 12th!  Akari can “pull in” students with higher numbers to fill the apartment!”  
 
Q:    “What do I need to do to get a single room next year?”
A:     “Single are available only at PV West.  You must complete the Single Room Otion Letter which requires a parent signature.  You must attend Room Selection Night.  If a single room is still available with your number is called, you can reserve your space then!  If all of the singles are taken, you will be placed on the waiting list and MUST selection room with a roommate!”
 
Q:    “What happens if you miss the Room Selection night?”
A:     “If you know ahead of time, call 310 303-7316 or stop by the Office of Residential        
Life, PVN 377.  Also, someone else can select for you the evening of your selection night.  The application fee and application will need to be submitted.”
 
 
Q:    “What if I want to cancel living in residence or change my mind?”
A:     “Written notification must be received by letter or email before July 1st.
        The $600.00 deposit will be refunded provided the account is clear and
        only after assessment has been made.”
