Thanking Our Friends

Marymount College Palos Verdes is pleased to thank the following foundations and individuals for their recent generous gifts:

The Kenneth T. and Eileen L. Norris Foundation has made a significant grant of $75,000 toward its endowed scholarship, supporting students who demonstrate academic merit.

Former Board of Trustees member Marylyn Ginsburg has given $10,000 in honor of President Emeritus Dr. Thomas M. McFadden and Monica McFadden, which will go toward the College’s building improvement plans.

As a fine arts aficionado and Marymount College donor since 2003, Robert Gore Rifkind has made another gift to the College’s Fine Arts programs. Mr. Rifkind’s latest gift provided for the purchase of an Epson color printer for Marymount’s photography and digital media students, as well as for general support of the Fine Arts Department.

Scholarship support from the George H. Mayr Foundation provides financial assistance to young men and women who otherwise would not have been able to obtain a Marymount education. Its annual giving of $10,000 continues the Foundation’s generous support for the College, designated for scholarships for deserving Marymount students. Marymount is pleased to continue to honor the Foundation and Mr. George H. Mayr each year by awarding Mayr Scholars.

Recognizing Team McFadden

In recognition of and in tribute to the contributions of Marymount College's President Emeritus, Dr. Thomas M. McFadden, and his spouse, Monica McFadden, who provided 14 years of stellar leadership to the campus and caring service to the greater community, the College is pleased to announce that the rotunda of Marymount's soon-to-be-built William H. Hannon Library will be named in their honor.

This recognition has been made possible thanks to the generous support of a special group of donors, members of Team McFadden, who individually contributed $25,000 or more and cumulatively gave more than $300,000 to demonstrate their gratitude to Marymount College and its leadership.
