1932Marymount College is founded as a two-year women’s college by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary in the Westwood section of Los Angeles. Mother Gertrude Cain is named President. |

1947 Marymount is accredited as a four-year women’s college. |

1960Marymount moves to the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Mother du Sacré Coeur Smith becomes President. The College successfully undertakes major building plans for its new campus, including residence halls and a library. |
