MMARYMOUNT COLLEGE is a private, coeducational college in the Catholic tradition offering a superior two-year liberal arts program leading to an Associate Degree.  The student body consists of approximately 750 weekday students. The College is located in Rancho Palos Verdes on a picturesque 26-acre site, overlooking the Pacific, approximately 30 miles southwest of Los Angeles.  We are currently inviting applications for

DIRECTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH, ASSESSMENT AND PLANNING

Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the position is responsible for the development and oversight of an ongoing assessment plan for the College.  The position provides leadership and expertise for campus-wide research, data analysis, assessment, and integrated planning to improve institutional effectiveness.  Some essential duties include:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate campus-wide assessment activities.

  • Provide leadership and consulting support to college departments regarding program review. 

  • In collaboration with the campus community, evaluate the adequacy of assessments and ensure that all assessments occur as per the accreditation cycle and meet accreditation standards.

  • Conduct workshops for faculty and staff to inform and update the community about assessment and how it can be used to improve teaching, learning, and operational effectiveness.

  • Generate grade distributions and course enrollment trends.

  • Provide regular enrollment reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse.

  • Serve as the reporting liaison and primary contact to external agencies.

  • Collect and report data on enrollment trends, retention, graduation, and transfer statistics.

  •  Manage the campus survey cycle.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree in educational research, social science, or related discipline; Ph.D. preferred.  Minimum three years experience in higher education and demonstrated leadership in institutional research and program assessment.  Demonstrated experience in designing research and assessment instruments.  Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.  Knowledge of accreditation requirements and process.  Ability to produce work using Microsoft Office.  Knowledge of Crystal Reports and SPSS preferred.  Ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals and diverse groups.
