The purpose of the dinner was to raise funds to build a new student plaza at the PV North residences. This new student plaza will include a volleyball court, basketball court, patio where the students can meet to study and dine, and a central pavilion where large group activities can take place.
“We have committed as parents to raise $250,000 of the projected $600,000 cost for phase one of the new student plaza, and I am confident that we will reach our goal,” stated Kent Valley, Senior Vice President at Majestic Realty and father of a freshman daughter.
“The dinner was a great success” Valley continued, “The dad's like having an event just for them. It allowed them an opportunity to bond with the other dads. Our students need a sense of belonging, a place to come together as a community, and a new student plaza will be a step in the right direction for them. ”
Valley challenged the dads to dig deep.“I have made a commitment to Dr. Brophy to raise $100,000 and I intend to continue this campaign until we have raised all of the monies.”
