Welcome to the Marymount College Department of Campus Safety and Security!

Campus Safety's mission is to create a safe and secure community for all members of the Marymount community, including students, faculty, staff, and guests.

In addition to the Director, the department employs Captain, two Sergeants, two Corporals and 17 additional Campus Safety Officers. The department conducts foot and vehicle patrols of all Marymount campuses, assist students, faculty, and staff with residence halls and offices accesses, enforces College policy along with other responsibilities as needed. In addition, Marymount College’s Campus Safety Department employs several work study students who assist the department with routine office functions and The Flock-On carpool program.

All Officers are required to possess and maintain a license through the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS), and current first aid / CPR certification. In addition our Officers bring a wealth of experience from past assignments to their positions.

The department invites you to take a few minutes to review our website for additional information on the programs we offer to assist you. We also invite you stop by OS104 at any time to voice questions, comments, or concerns!

On the main campus safety officers are on duty 24 hours a day. In case of an emergency between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., dial “0” and the receptionist will connect you with security. They can be reached at all times by calling ext. 300 or (310) 261-6150. The Campus Safety Officers’ desk is located in the Chapel foyer.

Marymount College Emergency Alert System EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM

Marymount College has an alert system to notify you and/or your parents instantaneously via voice, text, emails, Twitter and Facebook. Please provide emergency contact information by completing a form online.  This is not mandatory however, highly recommended.

The survey can always be accessed on the website at Marymount College Emergency Alert System. Please take the time to fill out the information as soon as possible.  

An emergency would be acts of God or safety concern resulting in a need to alter plans, e.g. an earthquake.

Past Campus Alerts:

10/5/2010 4 p.m. - The main campus at 30800 Palos Verdes Drive reported a potential incident to the local Sheriff’s Department. By 4:45 p.m. Sheriff’s officers determined there was no incident and the college resumed its normal operations.
