Marymount College Presents Sterling Repertory Company Production of Fairy Tale Spoof
“Cinderella Waltz” Saturdays and Sundays June 30 to Aug. 26
As committed to the arts during the summer as during the academic year, Marymount College is pleased to present, in collaboration with the Sterling Repertory Company, Don Nigro’s “Cinderella Waltz,” a wild, zany unconventional spoof on the classic Cinderella fairy tale. With the exception of July 21 and 22, when the theater will remain dark, performances will be held on Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 5:30 p.m. between June 30 and Aug. 26 in Marymount College’s auditorium. General admission is $15; seniors and students pay $12.
With an ensemble cast featuring Holly Baker-Kreiswirth, Frank Crabb, Martha Duncan, Geraldine Fuentes, Hannah Kreiswirth, Frank Pepito, Marisa Roemer, Ken Seeraty, Gemma van Biene and Bill Wolksi, “Cinderella Waltz” turns a classic fairy tale into a hysterical, unconventional romp, with characters that include Rosey Snow, stepsisters Goneril and Regan, a demented stepmother, lecherous father, bewildered prince, a fairy godmother who sings salty sailor songs, a troll, and a possibly homicidal village idiot.
In addition to this comedic fare, theatergoers can enjoy scrumptious box dinners. Orders must be placed at least five days before they intend to see “Cinderella Waltz.” Those who attend the opening night performance on June 30 will also be treated to a special hors d’oeuvres reception following the play.
Marymount is pleased to partner with members of the Sterling Repertory Company to mount this production. Sterling is a newly formed group of talented actors and other theater professionals, many of whom were previously affiliated with the PV Players.
In addition, we are hosting a special alumni night at the theater at Marymount College. Join us on July 28 for dinner and a special production of “Cinderella Waltz,” performed by the Sterling Repertory Company. Come mingle with fellow alumni and enjoy an evening of arts on the Peninsula.
