Marymount at the Cathedral

On Nov. 16, 2006, Marymount College's new President, Dr. Michael S. Brophy, and his wife Tara received a warm welcome to Southern California from scores of the College's friends and other local dignitaries at a reception held at Los Angeles's Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. Highlights included an invocation from his Eminence Roger Mahony, the Cardinal of Los Angeles's Archdiocese, and greetings from Marymount College alumnus Thomas J. Blumenthal '85 and William H. Hannon Foundation President Kathleen H. Aikenhead, who both served on the event's Honorary Cathedral Reception Committee. Other committee members included Srs. Antoine-Marie Baurier and Patricia Connor of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, Marymount College's founding order; James Flanigan, Timothy G. Psomas and Thomas Ricci, members of the College's Board of Trustees; and David Herbst, a director of the William H. Foundation.
