Thank you for visiting the Marymount College Admission website! I know the college search process can be an overwhelming and, often times, a confusing one to conduct! Your use of the Internet tells me that you are proceeding in the right direction. I am glad that your search has led you to Marymount, and I want to commend you on your commitment to the process! Perhaps I can give you a few pointers before you click ahead?

As you proceed with your search, your mission is an obvious one; to find the college in which you are most likely to obtain an excellent education while at the same time having fun learning and growing. A common mistake made by many students during the search is that they tend to "lose sight" of what’s most important when deciding where’s the "best" place to apply. Answer the following questions, and you’ll find yourself better equipped to proceed:

What do I enjoy doing?
In what areas do my academic interests lie?
What are my academic strengths and weaknesses?
What do I want to learn more about?
What careers might I find most enjoyable and rewarding?
Why do I want to pursue college studies?
Undoubtedly, each person will answer these questions differently. For some, the answers may not be readily apparent. For others, the answers won’t be their answers. Don’t worry, this process takes time, and you won’t have all the answers overnight. I can assure you, however, that if you answer these questions honestly, your search will be far easier. It will likely lead you to several viable options; colleges and universities that appropriately match your needs, abilities and desires!

Remember, there is at least one, and probably more than a couple of great schools awaiting your discovery. And maybe, just maybe, your search will lead you to Southern California . . . to a wonderful little private college that sits high upon a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean!
