Merchandising 100 – Fashion Analysis (3) Placement in ESL 102. An overview
of the fashion industry. The study of dress from 1900 to the present: designers’
contributions, producers of materials, manufacturers, retailers, and importers.
The economic importance of the fashion industry, as well as marketing practices,
are included. CSU

Merchandising 110 – Principles of Fashion Design (3 )* Color theory, line, rules
of proportion and silhouette necessary for garment design and construction, as
well as manufacturing process and cost analysis of ready-to-wear garments are
included in this introductory course. CSU

Merchandising 215 – Retail Merchandising (3) * Placement in ESL 102. Store
management, merchandising, organization, personnel, sales promotion, display,
buying, pricing, handling of merchandise, inventory turnover, and control
methods. (Same as Business 215.) CSU

Merchandising 250 – Interior Design I (3) * Foundation course emphasizing the
principles of interior design, color, texture, rhythm, pattern, balance, and scale.
Perspective and rendering techniques are included. Lecture and design problems.
(Same as Art 150.) CSU

Merchandising 260 – Fashion Show Production (1-2) * All aspects of
developing and executing a fashion show of professional caliber. Includes
coordination, theme development, promotion, staging, modeling, writing,
publicity, and commentary. CSU
