Marymount College Library

With a collection of 23, 000 books covering all subject areas and access to over 12,000 magazines, journals and newspapers,  Marymount Library’s focus is on supporting the curricular and personal information needs of the College community. 

Our electronic resources include access to subscription-based databases of books and articles, encyclopedias and other reference works, in addition to numerous research guides with links to quality web resources. A free interlibrary loan service provides students, faculty and staff with access to other materials that may not be held by our library.

 

Library Staff

Professional librarians are always available to assist students in identifying, accessing and evaluating research materials. Our mission is to enhance information literacy through one-on-one assistance and course-related workshops. Marymount librarians make themselves available in person, by calling (310) 303-7260, by emailing library@marymountpv.edu, and through IM at mcpvlibrary (AIM, Yahoo and MSN).

Library Resources

Students may check out books and reserve reading materials at the circulation desk with their student I.D. card.  A computer lab provides access to the Internet, library resources, student and faculty portals and standard computing software. Wireless access is available and a Virtual Private Network lets students, faculty and staff use online resources from their home or residence hall room.

The Community & the Library

Marymount College library is also pleased to have an open door policy with our neighbors in Rancho Palos Verdes and gives borrowing privileges to our circulating print collection. Residents may obtain a library card by speaking to the librarian during a visit to the library.

Marymount College library is a member of the American Library Association, OCLC and SCELC. It offers Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Privileges and Reciprocal Interlibrary Loan Privileges to SCELC member libraries.
