There are two methods for gaining admittance to the Honors Program. The first is to be invited by the Honors Committee to be admitted with Academic Honors. Students admitted with honors will receive a personal letter of invitation from the Honors Committee after receiving notification of acceptance to the College.
Any continuing Marymount College students may also apply to the Honors Program after earning a grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 or higher in a minimum of 12 units of college-level classes and demonstrating a commitment to service to others and a readiness for leadership.
Either path provides provisional acceptance to the Honors Program, allowing students to take Honors courses. Full membership in the Marymount College Phi Theta Kappa Honors Program may then be offered to candidates who apply formally and maintain a 3.3 or higher GPA for two semesters.
Pre-Registration into Honors courses is limited to Phi Theta Kappa members, candidates and students permitted to take an Honors course prior to re-application. Students outside of the Honors Program may add the class only during theadd/drop period with permission of the instructor and only if course limits have not been reached.
