Advisement + Transfer : University of California System
To transfer to the University of California system, students may fulfill the lower division breadth and general education requirements by completing the Inter-segmental General Education Transfer Core Curriculum (I.G.E.T.C.). The curriculum consists of a series of subject areas and types of courses that, if completed prior to transfer, will satisfy the breadth and general education requirements at any campus of the University of California system. Students have the option of completing the I.G.E.T.C. or the specific requirements of the particular school or college within the University of California system to which they intend to transfer. If the I.G.E.T.C. is not completed before transferring to university, students will be subject to the specific requirements of the school or college to which they have been admitted.
Students should check assist.org to explore the preparation for major agreements between Marymount College and specific UC campuses. It will allow them to select courses that simultaneously satisfy the associate’s and bachelor’s degree requirements of Marymount College and their intended transfer institution, respectively. In addition, assist.org is an excellent tool to explore the majors and institutions of both the UC and CSU system.
